This article has nothing to do with Halloween. It is a letter from a resident of Park Ridge, Illinois voicing his opinion against a library referendum, and it is filled with misinformation and bias against public libraries. What’s scary is that I know he is not the only person in Park Ridge, or anywhere, who feels this way. It is our job as librarians and advocates to make sure our residents, and people everywhere, understand why libraries are essential, and worthy of tax payer support.
