I believe I’ve mentioned before that we are all only human.
We make mistakes. Would that it weren’t so, but. . . there you are. So, what do you do when you make that mistake at work, and get “called on the carpet,” so to speak?
You own it. You make it right. You forgive yourself (this one is important! Don’t keep beating yourself up over it.) And you move on. That probably includes making sure that you won’t make that same mistake again. But, I’m sorry to have to tell you, you’ll probably make a different one. Don’t despair, because, you know, you’re only human (see above).
Thanks to Letters to a Young Librarian for reminding me of this, so I can, in turn, remind you.

So true…so hard to just move on sometimes as the guilt or memory will just sneak up on ya.

For sure. The memories of the mistakes I make in a day or week stay with me (I keep reliving them!) much longer than the memories of what I did right. Why is that?

A cruel joke of our mental and emotional build up I suppose. 😉

You are so right. You do have to move on, although it is tricky sometimes.

It’s so true what you wrote! But also difficult to forgive yourself for the things you did i think..
