Sometimes, maybe especially in today’s economy, people are unable to find work, and may have to work two part-time jobs to make ends meet. 
It is no different for those working in libraries.
There are pros and cons to working in two different libraries, of course. Perhaps the biggest advantage is that you are able to pay your bills! For those of you on the other side of the coin, if you hire someone who also works at another library, I encourage you to be understanding and supportive of those in this situation. There are pros and cons for you too.
