Schumacher Library, Olbrich Gardens

There’s no reason why the library of the month can’t be a special library! Well, yes, all libraries are “special,” but we in library-land classify libraries roughly into three types:
- public libraries
- academic libraries
- school libraries
- special libraries.
The first three are pretty self-explanatory, I think. The fourth are those that don’t fit into any of the other three! But are primarily found in businesses, hospitals, law firms, etc. Although I write primarily about public libraries, since they’ve been my focus since 2001, I intend for this blog to be inclusive.
The Schumacher Library is located at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens, one of the most beautiful places in Madison, WI, the city where I live. Once again I owe thanks for this week’s photo to Ben Miller, from Resources for Libraries and Lifelong Learning at Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
Now, you should go read about the Schumacher Library, and Olbrich. And then plan your next visit to the amazing gardens.
Looks like a nice looking place.
