Helping Hands

Libraries are here to do so many things. One of them, as I’ve told you before, is to help, not only those looking for information, but those in need. Today I share yet another example: How Denver Public Library Balances Books and Being a Homeless Shelter.  From the story:

  • “[This] is a role that we have not asked to play, but are playing.”
  • “When I started, this was the third city to get a social worker in the library. And now they are dozens around the country.”
  • The library is a safe place.
  • The library is here to connect people to the resources they need.

Yes, we’re here to help. Libraries are so much more than books. Get inside one today.
